Erich Kunzel shares his insights about today’s program:

“Essentially the program is packaged to highlight the whole rock influence on Broadway. This movement really started in 1969 with the musical Hair and continues to this day with musicals such as Jersey Boys. And, as you will see on the program, we really go from A to Z in terms of rock musicals, including Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Tommy, Tarzan, Moving Out with Billy Joel and up to the recent Jersey Boys, the Frankie Valli musical which won the Tony this year.”
