Conductor Comments
Maestro Kunzel shares his insights about today’s program:
My salute to the Big Band era pays tribute to those band leaders and composers whose music has become synonymous with this genre. You will hear the best of the best, including Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Harry James, Woody Herman and more. As many of the great crooners of the last century got their start with big bands, I thought it only appropriate to present the wonderful young vocal talent of Jefferey Berger in some timeless classics of Frank Sinatra and Bobby Darin. Are you “In the Mood?”
